True Blood is about a world where vampires have come out to mankind. After the invention of the synthetic human blood substitute by the Japanese, the vampires no longer have to hunt. As a result, they try to live side by side but are barely able to keep from sinking their teeth into the buffet of humanity that they now live openly with.
Even Stewie from Family Guy pays homage to True Blood.
