Mind Field : YouTube channel on the deep questions of Science

Obsessed! I love this channel

Normally I go on YouTube to 'turn off' my brain, but this series is as intellectually stimulating as any science documentary. Exploring complex questions in a modern & entertaining way, I don't know how I missed this channel all these years. Highly recommended if you dare to challenge your mindset.

Ashton Kutcher told me to be sexy - Teen Choice Awards 2013 acceptance speech

Screenstar Ashton Kutcher, practical joker host of MTV Punk'D, reveals his real name is actually 'Chris' and Ashton is really his middle name.
He accepted a Teen Choice award but surprised the audience with his unconventional speech.
With the poise of a public orator, Ashton got 'real' and talked about things a teenager really needs to know.

It feels like Ashton is finally done with the cougar hunger games and is moving on strong.
I love the simplicity and arrangement of his points.
1. Opportunity
2. Be Sexy
3. Living Life

Vipassana Meditation & Alain de Botton's Philosophy of Success

Intro to Vipassana Meditation

For those who wish to learn about the ancient technique of Vipassana Meditation, its non-sectarian nature and its benefits, a video discourse approximately 17 minutes in length is available for viewing in both English and Hindi languages.

I am pretty excited to be heading for this retreat. As a Public Speaking instructor, this year has made me grow is ways I've never imagined. It has taught me mastery of my voice in it's projection, tone and delivery. I have found that sound must also be imbued with body language to impart the full dimensions of a message.

This FREE course attracted me because it symbolizes the benefits of Silence. From the video, it talks about finding peace in the mind through observation. It reminds me of one of the Habits from Stephen Covey's book '7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. Being proactive, not reactive. I do believe that this age presents one of the highest mental stresses of all time. We are reactive creatures by nature and this programming will not allow us to live in harmony as our instincts say Survival Of The Fittest, but Society says we are all equal and living in a world of Meritocracy.

This form of thinking is further explained by this Ted Video by Alain de Botton, titled:
A kinder, gentler philosophy of success

He is the epitome of wit. I just love all his smart punchlines, keeping it relevant and entertaining. His message will really force you to rethink the terms of success. Has your vision of success been dictated by society or have you truly built your own path towards Inner Success.

I shall post my experience in the 10 day meditative retreat soon :)

Google Wave

Omg omg ! how exciting is this,
My wait for the new Social Networking platform that is said to take the world by storm is finally here.
Right now, it is in its fledgling state, so its true potential hasn't been realized yet.
I believe that its realtime function will prove to be greatly important to our future.

So I've asked for an invitation about a month ago, and it's finally here!
As you will notice, it still says Google Wave Preview, I think they've only just released it to the general public as beta testing. Then they will require the pioneers, like myself, to report bugs and inconsistencies.

In any case, I am very excited about it. G-Wave gives you 8 invitations to start off with. So any of you who wants an invitation, I have about 4 left. Let me know :)

Here's more on how Wave works.

Yay Malaysians

I know this is so atypical of me, I am not known for my patriotism, but I can't help but feel proud of this lil girl
ZEE AVI

Featured artist on letssingit.com and apparently a really popular one on youtube as well.
Hailing from the little town of Miri, sarawak, and being in KL from age 12 till 17 when she headed to London for 4 years to study fashion design before returning to KL. I am happy we have a talent that is recognized worldwide.

Her song style is very hawaiian jazz. A Norah Jones or Corinne Bailey Rae born in the tropics.

yeah. just felt like ranting about this.

Tell Jesus, The Bitch is back

also tell Jesus, that bitch can sing!

I never knew Leighton Meester, AKA Blair Waldorf of GossipGirl actually started off as a singer before gaining fame on screen.

She sounds mighty amazing in these two songs,

But without actually seeing her physically sing in the video, I harbor my doubts of those shocking pipes. This is all I could find of her actual singing, although the song reminds me of emo goth crap.

Rethink Your Things

Kerli - Walking On Air

I love this music video because it made me reconsider all the objects we take for granted.

When we look at the oven, we know it makes things hot, the fridge makes things cold.

The video switches things around by making things do the opposite. Imagine a world where

the TV watches you.

You spin around the fan

your bed is made of rocks

Fun stuff-

How Ads Can Be Entertainment

For some strange reason, this ad really reminds me of William. I think he will be laughing his ass off the ceiling and probably be reciting the words daily.

I know I'm great for finding these for you!

I made your day~

Weak-end

Yes it is the weekend that weakens my soul, for it is the silent eulogy for my holiday week.

Uni work will come back in full force, Life will no longer standstill.

I will continue to age and my face will sag! Aaaaaah! Mom and Dad! how do you live with yourself when you look in the mirror?

kidding.~lol. I'm just acting my part of the drama queen as it seems that's the title I'll be voted for in our Uni - year book.

I wonder who will get voted -biggest bitch? --- that is the million (if not billion) dollar question.

To lighten my life up. Here's an ad I like whom I borrowed off the blog of my wonderful wifey, Christle with the silent T. She has great taste.
GREAT AD! AHAHA

Also, as you can see I've started a blog feed -list. I think' its great! and saves me wondering who blogged and who hasn't. Everyone should get one!

You heard here first on~

As If Patriots Are Real

I'd like to wish Madam Malaysia a Happy 51st birthday, I'm sure we all understand that she is going through menopause now, which explains the fitful situations there and the hot flashes of political unrest.

Anyway, I had a great time Denise, and Table Chanel no.5 (Derrick's cute group name for our table). the Momu Merdeka Dinner was entertaining.

Though we did not win the Hoyts tickets, nor the Wii console, at least Derrick won the Kbox vouchers, which I expect to make use of as well :)

The Merdeka Countdown at CQ gravity bar which I went with Shin Yeu and Denise, was certainly a giant salad tossing of Malaysians.

Let me teach you lesson on how to be a social "fake it till you make it"

I only know three people here
Lesson :
  • Act like you know everyone! even if you dont!
  • Call everyone 'Babe' , Even if they're dudes! At least it'll get you noticed!
(disclaimer: I am not responsible for all consequences resulting from my inane advice)
Spotted:
Joyce and Andy, Sasha and Balv, Kelly and Justin,Danny and Tammathy, Joanne Teo and friends, Caleb/Jiah Lit, surprisingly even an old high school mate, Samuel Yee was his name I think.

Yeap, that is as well as my memory will serve. It makes me realize,
Why the hell am I flying all the way here to meet friends that live in my own backyard in Malaysia?
It's great, all the same.

Now to tap into my chinese ancestry and sing some songs.

Musique Mixed

FEATURING NORWEGIAN RECYCLING

Surprisingly this group or band or Mixers were introduced to me by my cousin Ivan.
I love -How Six Songs Collide the most, and I highly recommend everyone beg, borrow or steal it from the platinum record hanging on the wall of the artiste's crib.

Another Song by them
An interesting mix of 8 very different songs.

Nice R&B Mix - They should spin at a club here!

For lyrics to the songs and more I usually use
www.letssingit.com
which was given to me by Sheryl many years ago, I love the function where you can search Lyrics.
